Abby & Andy

Couple Info

We are so looking forward to starting this new chapter together, and can’t wait to celebrate with all of our favorite people. We're getting married on June 23, 2022 at Sandos Playacar in Playa Del Carmen (flying into Cancun-CUN Airport)! We have chosen to get married on a Thursday with the hope of spending the rest of the weekend celebrating, relaxing, visiting, and enjoying Mexico together!

General Information

1. The wedding will be held on the beach at 4pm. The attire is "beach
semi-formal." The happy hour and dinner will be held after the ceremony
(starting at 5pm) in the garden area of the resort.

2. We plan on having everyone come together on Wednesday night (6/22) at 5pm for a celebratory drink. Reservations will be made for dinner at one of the restaurants afterwards. Stay tuned for "meet up" location
information (likely the lobby bar) and name/time of restaurant reservation.
Please let me know if you do not want to be included in the dinner count,
either due to travel times or a fun excursion you have planned for
Wednesday.

3. Andy and I will be arriving on site on Monday 6/20, midday.

4. The hotel requests that everyone bring a photocopy of their passport.
They said that will make the check in process easier.

Covid-19

Getting to Mexico:
Guests can travel to Mexico without taking a Covid test.  Expect health screenings at both the airport and resort.
Getting Home:
From Sandos website:
At Sandos Hotels & Resorts in Mexico, guests have the option to take Antigen or PCR COVID-19 tests at their own expense, directly on the resort, without having to leave the grounds. Additionally, anyone who tests positive during their stay at Sandos will be eligible for 2 extra nights in quarantine at no additional cost.

The measures that have been implemented so far are:

  • On-site PCR and Antigen Tests (covered by the guest).
  • PCR tests will cost 80 USD per person.
  • Antigen tests will cost 25 USD per person.
  • All tests are carried out on the property to avoid the displacement of guests.
  • In the case of detecting positive cases of COVID-19 in guests, who require confinement, a stay will be granted at no extra cost at the hotel for 2 nights. This includes 3 meals per day and non-alcoholic beverages.
From CDC website:

All air passengers 2 years or older with a flight departing to the US from a foreign country, are required show a negative COVID-19 viral test result taken no more than 1 day before travel, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days, before they board their flight.

You must be tested with a viral test to look for current infection – these include an antigen test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT).

Phrases indicating a test is an antigen test could include, but not are not limited to:

  • Rapid antigen test
  • Viral antigen test
  • Also, could be noted as Antigen Chromatographic Digital Immunoassay, Antigen Chemiluminescence Immunoassay, or Antigen Lateral Flow Fluorescence
Testing Outside of the Hotel:
This article details the process if you want to test outside of the hotel, although it appears that the hotel prices are comparable to other testing sites. https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/tips/covid-test-mexico-cdc/
***A question came up about if you could bring a rapid test from home to use to return to the states.  These tests do not have the date you took them, and will not be accepted****
